YMCA Join Together
Roanoke, Va – The YMCA of Roanoke Valley announced today that the Rockbridge Area YMCA in Lexington, VA, will become an official branch of the YMCA of Roanoke Valley.
The Boards of Directors for both Ys unanimously approved an agreement to bring the Rockbridge Area YMCA into the Roanoke Valley association. This unification will benefit both organizations by combining staff, volunteers, facilities and resources into a stronger association.
“This is an exciting opportunity for YMCA staff, YMCA members and our region. Both associations have strong reputations, solid membership bases and great staff. We look forward to seeing how combining forces will help us have and even greater impact in our communities.” said YMCA of Roanoke Valley CEO Mark Johnson.
Rockbridge Area Executive Director Alysan Raymond said, “By working together, we believe that there will be more efficiency in services, and the Y will be able to offer more innovative programs to the communities we serve.”
